Murvine just turned 20. a graduate of Oak Hills High School and is currently a sophomore and a wrestler at Mt. St. Joseph. His father died when he was 2, according to his aunt, Barbara Hamblen.
Due to his illness and treatment, he had to drop out of college and there's a chance his medical insurance may be dropped if he's not a full-time student.
On Sept. 11, Murvine was diagnosed with a very rare brain tumor (chordoma) and underwent a 14-hour surgery Oct. 9 when most of the tumor was removed.
"Because of his otherwise healthy physical condition, he came through the surgery very well, and has surprised most of his doctors with his speedy recovery," Hamblen said. "However, this particular tumor generally returns and so he is about to begin a long road of radiation followed by chemotherapy. Rob is a very positive and optimistic person and we have a lot of faith that he will be cured and blessed with a complete recovery"
